Honda Civic Tourer Concept - A Civic with high style

More pics of the Honda Civic Tourer Concept have been released and the concept just keeps getting better and better looking. Who says Honda can't design an attractive car? Well, many US consumers for one. Honda has a habit of making these great concepts, but when the production versions appear, the designs are so diluted that they're hard to believe that it is the same design. Our US Insight is just one example. This would make a great addition to the US line up and Honda could actually make a new model out of it and offer various gas and hybrid powertrains to take on the Prius family. One can hope. Very little info is available to those not lucky enough to get to Switzerland, so I'm sure that there will be more to come, especially if the Civic Tourer sees production in some form. Until then, enjoy the pics (brief release and 3 pics after the jump). Come on Honda. This one looks ready to go, so go for it already.

New Civic Tourer Concept

Today, at the Geneva Motor Show, Honda unveils the concept of the new Civic Tourer model. The low and wide stance gives a sporty feel whilst the rear styling will deliver class leading cargo space.

Honda Civic Tourer Concept
The Civic Tourer Concept shares much of the same DNA as the Civic hatchback model. It has a sophisticated, aerodynamic body that creates a clean, dynamic and elegant look.

With a unique profile amongst its competitors, the Civic Tourer Concept has a low and wide stance giving it a sporty feel which is complemented by the cab forward design and sleek cabin style which are also found on the Civic hatchback.

Previous Honda wagon derivatives such as the Accord Tourer and Civic Aero deck have sought to offer sleek design combined with utility and class leading cargo space. The rear styling of the Civic Tourer Concept maintains this design direction making it the ideal vehicle for an active family.

CO2 emissions of 119g/km* for 1.6 i-DTEC CR-V

Honda also confirm that its new Earth Dreams Technology 1.6 liter i-DTEC engine will be added to the CR-V range, following on from its introduction to the Civic at the beginning of 2013. Delivering CO2 emissions of only 119 g/km*, the CR-V 1.6 i-DTEC will be one of the cleanest and most efficient SUVs in the market when it is introduced in Autumn 2013. The 1.6 i-DTEC engine will be available with two-wheel drive and a manual transmission on the CR-V.

Latest NSX Concept unveiled

In addition, Honda unveils a new NSX Concept for the first time in Europe, showcasing the evolution of the supercar's styling and design, including a first-ever look at one possible direction for the next-generation NSX interior design. The exterior design stays remarkably true to the original concept styling, maintaining its dynamic and alluring proportions whilst the interior package boasts outstanding visibility and a great driving position.

Nurburgring testing for new Civic Type R

Last year, Honda confirmed the introduction of an all-new Civic Type R for Europe. With the application of technologies from Honda’s World Touring Car Championship Civic, development is progressing well and today, Honda announce that testing at the Nurburgring for the new model will begin in 2013.
