Quick Look: 2015 Dodge Charger - w/video

When the new Dodge Charger was introduced (re-introduced?) more than a decade ago, it was reborn as a four-door sedan with aggressive styling and rear-wheel drive. So far, so good, The front end could never be called sleek, until now. What you see here is the new for 2015 Charger with a front clip that is more inline with the rest of Dodge products. Nearly every body panel has been massaged for the new '15 Charger making the car even more expressive than before. If you can't tell, I like it...a lot. The model shown here is the R/T version, but the new Charger will come in three other flavors, SE, SXT, and R/T Road & Track. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 (292 hp, 260 lb.-ft.of torque, and 31 mpg/highway) is standard in all but the R/T which gets the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 (370hp, 395 lb.-ft. of torque, 0-60 mph in the high-5 seconds). All engine choices come mated to the eight-speed automatic for improved performance and efficiency. New colors, inside and out, new wheels, and numerous options help you spec out the Charger of your dreams. New this year, Mopar will offer numerous parts and accessories through the Mopar Custom Shop at the dealership that gives you even more options that can be ordered, delivered, and financed with your new car. All-wheel drive is available on cars equipped with the V6. For lots of information regarding the new 2015 Dodge Charger, check out the two press releases, pics, and video after the jump. Enjoy! Redline Tri-coat Pearl? Granite Crystal Metallic? Phantom Black Tri-coat Pearl? Beats Audio? UConnect infotainment? Decisions, decisions...

Volkswagen shows New Midsize Coupe "concept" ahead of introduction

Volkswagen makes some good-looking, if conservatively styled cars which makes the NMC (New Midsize Coupe) concept from the Beijing Motor Show a bit of a surprise. The NMC is one of the new four-door coupes that are all the rage right now. Think of the NMC as a competitor for the new Mercedes GLA or more appropriately, think of the NMC as a stylish, upmarket Jetta, like the CC is kind of a stylish, more upscale Passat. Little is known about the NMC (no interior shots were provided, but few do interiors better than VW) other than it will feature VW's popular 2.0-liter turbo four and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, have new design LED lighting, be slotted in the VW line-up between the Passat and the Jetta, and just, well, be pretty. A really nice car that, wait for it, is going into production according to published reports. Since this car looks ready to go, the NMC may be closer to production than you might think. I'd forget the 20-inch wheels though. For more info, check out the press releases after the jump.

Quick Look: 2015 Honda Fit - w/videos

Honda's Fit has always been the "Swiss Army Knife" of cars with an interior that seemed larger on the inside than on the outside, you know like in the Harry Potter movies. Efficiency and clever design are the culprits here and the new for 2015 Fit continues in that grand tradition. The styling has been updated with more creases and  folds to make things more interesting visually. The new grille design is cleaner than recent Honda attempts and the tail lights seemingly go all the way to the roof. It is a very nice sub-compact design and the Fit faithful will be pleased as will new customers. The new Earth Dreams 1.5L DOHC 4-cylinder engine with i-VTEC+VTC valve and timing control features direct fuel injection, reduced weight and friction, increased compression ratio, and other changes deliver an increase in peak horsepower to 130, and an increase in peak torque to 114 lb.-ft. Transmission choices are either a new six-speed manual or a CVT (continuously-variable transmission). I thought Honda was the "engineering" company and was expecting a new dual-clutch automanual (which is the transmission of choice for top fuel-economy...yes, generally even better than manuals). The new Fit comes in LX, EX, and EX-L trim with prices starting at $15,525 for the LX with the manual to $20,800 for the EX-L with the CVT and Navigation (prices plus taxes, license, fees, options, and destination). The all-new 2015 Fit is rolling into Honda dealerships now. For lots more info, check out the press releases, spec sheets, pics and videos (3) after the jump. Also included is a press release and video regarding the new Zipcar One Way program that will feature the new Fit. Enjoy!
