Nissan freshens Juke and adds Color Studio - w/videos


Nissan's Juke is one of those vehicles that incite "love it" or "hate it" reactions from folks. Personally, I love it and the 2015 Juke gets some updates for the new year. The front clip is freshened with a new grille (with V-Motion inset), projector beam headlights, and revised lower valance. The rear-view mirrors get integrated LED turn-signal repeaters and the rear fascia received more aggressive shaping with revised taillights and LED accents. Additionally, new standard features include Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Start, RearView Monitor, NissanConnect℠ with Mobile Apps (with a 5.0-inch color display), USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming audio via Bluetooth® and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant. New colors include Super Black, Solar yellow (above), and Cosmic Blue. For 2015, Juke is available in five trim levels: S, SV, SL, NISMO, and NISMO RS. A second-generation 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG™) Turbo, 16-valve DOHC aluminum-alloy inline 4-cylinder engine (188 hp,/177 lb.ft. of torque) is standard in the first four trim levels with NISMO SR models getting the engine upgraded to 215 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) and 210 lb-ft of torque (from 3,600 to 4,800 rpm) for the 6-speed manual transmission-equipped front-wheel drive model (CVT XTronic engines rated lower). A six-speed manual and the XTronic CVT (continuosly-variable transmission) are the transmission options and all-wheel drive is available. The big news is the new Color Studio that lets Juke owners personalize their vehicles (see the silver/orange, blue/gold vehicles). The front and rear bumper accents, headlight trim rings, side mirror caps, door handle covers, side door sills, rear roof spoiler, hatch handle finishers, lower hatch accent, interior inserts (tweeters and vents), floor mats, 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and center caps may be painted in one of eight colors, Red, Yellow, Orange, Electric Blue, Black Purple, White, Matte Black and Carbon-fiber Look; (Piano Black also available for interior inserts) to help your Juke make a statement. Color Studio accents can be added at home or by your dealer and may be specified when you purchase your vehicle and financed. Looks like Nissan's funky Juke just got, well, funkier. Nissan announces U.S. pricing for 2015 Nissan JUKE

Nissan announced U.S. pricing for the new 2015 Nissan JUKE sport cross, which features a revised exterior and enhanced standard equipment – plus a new JUKE "Color Studio" personalization program. The 2015 JUKE goes on sale today at Nissan dealers nationwide, following its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

While keeping its same dimensions and aggressive stance as previous years, the 2015 JUKE offers a fresh front end look with its new projector beam headlights and LED front Signature Accent Lamps. The grille incorporates the new Nissan V-Motion look, while more robust trim beneath the bumper adds to its sporty presence. The side rearview mirrors add standard integrated LED turn signal repeaters. The redesigned rear fascia features a more aggressive shape to match the revised boomerang taillights with LED accents.

New standard features include Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Start, RearView Monitor and NissanConnect℠ with Mobile Apps – including a 5.0-inch color display, USB connection port for iPod® interface and other compatible devices, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming audio via Bluetooth® and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant.

Three new exterior colors are offered for 2015 – Super Black and hard-to-ignore Solar Yellow and Cosmic Blue. JUKE is now available in a choice of nine exterior colors.

About the 2015 Nissan JUKE
Since its launch for the 2011 model year, the Nissan JUKE has stood out from the crowd with its fiercely sculpted headlights and hood, muscular lines, hidden rear door handles and fluid rear hatchback design. For 2015, JUKE's bold style is enhanced with new front and rear fascias that further push the boundaries of its signature premium and sporty performance cues.

Inside, the distinctive JUKE interior continues to combine bold design with traditional hatchback functionality. As in previous years, the sporty front bucket seats – available in a choice of fabric or leather appointments – frame the unique motorcycle tank-inspired center console. In the rear is a 60/40-split fold-down bench seat.

Among the long list of available technology are Around View® Monitor and NissanConnect℠ with Navigation and Mobile Apps, with 5.8-inch color touch-screen display, enhanced Voice Recognition for navigation and audio, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio, SiriusXM Traffic and SiriusXM Travel Link™ (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately). Perhaps the most intriguing addition to the 2015 JUKE is the ability to personalize both the exterior and interior with a range of "color packs" to change the look and feel of the vehicle. For example, new accessory 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are available with color inserts to match or contrast the body color.

Special color accents can also be applied to the outside rearview mirror caps, side sills, rear roof spoiler and door handles. Interior color packs will be offered for the door trim and other elements. Eight colors are available – including red, white, black, yellow, electric blue and purple – and a total of 12 accessories.

As in previous years, the 2015 JUKE offers sporty performance to match its distinctive style. Built on Nissan's proven global B-platform, JUKE looks exactly like it drives – fun, bold and exciting.

For 2015, JUKE adopts a second-generation version of its proven 1.6-liter Direct Injection Gasoline (DIG™) Turbo, 16-valve DOHC aluminum-alloy inline 4-cylinder engine. Though it remains rated at 188 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque, the significantly revised engine design offers enhanced fuel efficiency, improved responsiveness and lower emissions. This engine in standard on JUKE S, SV, SL and NISMO models.

On S, SV and SL models, one transmission is offered – Nissan's advanced Xtronic transmission with Manual Mode and new D-step Logic Control, which simulates shifts, giving a more natural acceleration feeling without holding a high rpm constant. A 6-speed manual is available on NISMO and NISMO RS models.

Fuel economy for Xtronic-equipped JUKEs has been increased for 2015 by 1 mpg city and combined for front-wheel drive models to 28/32/30 mpg city/highway/combined; and by 1 mpg city, highway and combined for all-wheel drive models – now 26/31/28 mpg respectively.

JUKE's available torque vectoring AWD system splits torque up to 50:50 between the front and rear wheels and can also can split torque from side-to-side across the rear axle. When cornering, the system helps reduce understeer and enhance the vehicle's cornering feel.

An available innovative Integrated Control (I-CON) system combines control of the automatic A/C and the three-mode drive selector – Normal for everyday driving; Sport for a more intense performance feel; and Eco for maximum efficiency – adjusting throttle, transmission (XTRONIC) and steering feel.

Responsive handling is provided by an independent MacPherson strut front suspension, with torsion beam rear suspension (FWD) or multi-link rear suspension (AWD models only). Other standard equipment includes vehicle-speed-sensing electric power-assisted steering and power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. Safety features include six air bags and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).

The 2015 Nissan JUKE is offered in five grade levels, each available in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive: S, SV, SL, NISMO and JUKE NISMO RS.

The 2015 JUKE NISMO and JUKE NISMO RS are part of a growing lineup of NISMO-branded factory performance machines in Nissan showrooms, which also includes the popular Nissan 370Z NISMO and the ultimate NISMO, the GT-R NISMO. Both the JUKE NISMO and NISMO RS include special exterior modifications designed to enhance aerodynamics, resulting in a 37-percent improvement in downforce (versus non-NISMO models). Exterior features include NISMO front and rear fascias and side sills with a distinctive red stripe, special grille and light treatments, extended body-colored wheel flares, red outside mirror covers and unique rear spoiler and NISMO or NISMO RS badging.

Inside, the NISMO-style interiors combine dark finishes and red accents. The leather and Alcantara®-wrapped steering wheel designs include a racing-inspired red top-center marking, while the special sport front seats offer added support and comfort while cornering, along with embossed NISMO logos and red stitching. NISMO RS adds unique Recaro® front seats with embossed logos.

The JUKE NISMO RS increases the engine's performance to 215 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) and 210 lb-ft of torque (from 3,600 to 4,800 rpm) for the 6-speed manual transmission-equipped front-wheel drive model. The JUKE NISMO RS AWD with Xtronic transmission is rated at 211 horsepower (at 6,000 rpm) and 184 lb-ft of torque (from 2,400 to 6,000 rpm). Manual transmission-equipped NISMO RS models also offer a standard helical-geared Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) to direct more power to the front wheel with the most traction, helping maintain acceleration during cornering. It also helps reduce torque steer, adding to the sense of driving excitement.

12 Genuine Nissan Accessory items – in a range of eight colors – are available through Nissan dealers for installation at the time of a JUKE purchase or to be retrofitted at a later date

The available colors are: Red, Yellow, Orange, Electric Blue, Black Purple, White, Matte Black and Carbon-fiber Look; Piano Black also available for interior inserts

Nissan brought a splash of brass and color to the Los Angeles Auto Show today during a press conference featuring the debut of two new vehicles, the launch of a unique vehicle personalization program and an appearance by local Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Allen.

Sharing center stage at the Nissan display were the all-new 2015 Nissan Murano crossover, making its official debut in full production trim, and the revised Nissan JUKE sport cross.
