Mercedes Benz debuts sleek new C-Class Coupe - w/videos

The German automakers really know how to make Coupes such as the A5/S5 from Audi (updating soon), the 4- and 6-Series models from BMW, and from Mercedes Benz, the S-class Coupe and this latest C-Class Coupe. Mercedes is on a style roll with these coupes that look sleek, aerodynamic, and muscular/aggressive all at the same time. While the press release is a global one, you can guess the engines and equipment that will come to the US. Expect the turbo fours and the eight-speed auto at the very least. It would be nice to get the more-powerful diesel in the C-Class Coupe as well, but... The new C Coupe gets all of Mercedes' latest like the AMG equipment, Agility Control. Airmatic suspension, DISTRONIC PLUS (with Steering Assist and Stop&Go Pilot), AS PLUS Brake Assist System, Active Lane Keeping Assist, PRE‑SAFE® occupant protection, and much more as standard equipment or available in packages. The new body is stiffer and lighter which should aid performance and fuel economy. In other words, like most Mercedes models here in the US, you can spend lots of money or go crazy with the options and spend even more money. But look what you get...a new Coupe that is certainly worth lusting after. Mercedes will begin the roll out of the new C-Class Coupes in December. 2016 Toyota Tacoma ready to battle new competition and highways and off-road byways - w/video

Toyota's Tacoma is the best-selling mid-size truck and they want to keep it that way. So, for 2016, the Tacoma has received numerous upgrades to the styling and availability of safety, specific use, and infotainment equipment. The '16 Tacoma is available in 29 different configurations in SR, SR5, TRD, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, (Toyota Racing Development), and Limited trim levels in Access Cab and Double Cam models in rear-wheel- and four- and all-wheel-drive modes. Prices start at $23,300 for the SR Access Cab with a 2.7-liter 4-cylinder engine (159 hp and 180 lb-ft. of torque) and six-speed automatic transmission to $34,745 for the Double Cab Limited 3.5-liter V6 (278 hp and 265 lb-ft. of torque) with a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive (plus taxes, license, destination, and fees). Toyota's Entune infotainment system is onboard and an Entune JBL premium audio system is available. Various Utility, Convenience, four levels of the SR5 Appearance Package, and three levels of Premium & Technology Packages are offered. In other words, you can have it your way and to fit just about any size checkbook or credit rating. The styling is evolutionary and still recognizable as a Tacoma. GM's new mid-size trucks have taken a bite out of the Tacoma's chunk of the mid-size truck pie to the point that Ford is considering a new Ranger (although rumors suggest the new Ranger will be a smaller compact truck). Interesting...we shall see. Truck buyers, your future looks bright and to the Toyota faithful, your new mid-sizer is here. The all-new smart fourtwo goes topless...sorta - w/videos

The smart fourtwo (hate the all lower case spelling) is one of those cars that you get or you don't. I live in a suburb of a metropolitan area and see quite a few of these in my neighborhood especially since parking is a problem and these fit (sorry Honda) almost anywhere. Which is sorta the point of city cars. They fit and scoot in places where space is at a premium and the smart division of Mercedes Benz produces some of the best and safest of city cars. The all-new smart fourtwo continues with their Tridion safety call that allows the fourtwo to exceed crash protection and roof deformity safety requirements. The new fourtwo cabrio is smart's latest droptop (power soft top) that has received additional bracing for topless duty with removable roof bars (over the windows) that give the fourtwo cabrio a more open feel. In other words, it's small and open, but you'd have to do something really stupid to get squished in one of these. Two engines will be offered (both with three-cylinders) with either 71 or 90 hp mated to a five-speed manual transmission or the fully automatic twinamic dual clutch transmission. The smart fourtwo cabrio will be available in three flavors - passion, prime and proxy - and in numerous color combinations with newly available safety equipment like ESP® with Crosswind Assist and hill start assist (standard), forward collision warning (optional), and Lane Keeping Assist (optional). It seems that the new smart fourtwo cabrio has been improved with class-leading equipment and safety and as a result, the latest topless fourtwo should find many new takers. For more info about safety equipment and vehicle specs, check out the press release, pics, and videos after the jump. The new smart fourtwo cabrio will debut at the Frankfurt International Auto Show soon and be at you local dealer in time for next spring/summer. US specs have not been released, but expect the larger engine and automated transmission as standard equipment.Click on the pics for a closer look.
